This notice explains what personal information LEFIKA LOGIC (PTY) LTD collects through this website, why, who else sees it, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). We are the responsible party for it.

What we collect, and why

When you send an enquiry

Your name, email address, company name if you give one, what you need, your message, and whether you'd like occasional updates. We use them only to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to agree and carry out the work. Lawful basis: taking steps you asked for before a contract (s11(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (s11(1)(f)).

If you ask for updates

We email you about Lefika Logic's services only if you tick the box, and every email lets you stop them. Lawful basis: your consent (s11(1)(a), s69). Not ticking it changes nothing about how we handle your enquiry.

When you visit

Our hosting provider, Domains.co.za, records technical details of each request, including your IP address, to run and protect the site. To stop the enquiry form being flooded, the site also holds your IP address in memory for ten minutes after you send an enquiry; it is never written to storage. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure (s11(1)(f)).

Cookies

We store one strictly necessary item in your browser: your cookie choice, so we don't ask again. We use no analytics or marketing cookies today. If we add any, they will load only if you allow them, and you can change your choice at any time with “Cookie preferences” at the foot of every page.

Who else sees it

• Resend, which delivers enquiries from the website to our inbox, and keeps copies of sent messages for a limited time.
• Domains.co.za, which hosts this website and our mailboxes, including the inbox enquiries arrive in, on servers in Johannesburg.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing.

Outside South Africa

This website, our mailboxes and their backups are hosted in South Africa, in Domains.co.za's Johannesburg data centre. The one exception is Resend, which delivers each enquiry from the website to our inbox and is based in the United States, so an enquiry passes through it on the way. We rely on Resend's data processing terms, which bind it to protect the information to a standard substantially similar to POPIA (s72(1)(a)).

How long we keep it

An enquiry that doesn't lead to work is deleted within 12 months of our last reply. If it does, it becomes part of the project's records, which we keep for as long as the law requires (for example, five years for tax records).

How we protect it

The website stores no personal information: enquiries go straight to our inbox, over encrypted connections throughout. Access to the inbox and to our systems is limited to the people who need it and protected by multi-factor authentication. If personal information is compromised, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA s22 requires.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Regulator.
